About

Our Story

Founded in 1927, Holston Hills Country Club enjoys a rich history on its classic Donald Ross golf course. Featuring 18 holes of Bermuda grass fairways, it sits on 180 open acres of rolling hills adjoining the Holston River. The golf course is consistently ranked among Tennessee's Top 100 golf courses.

Perched on a hill with breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountains, the clubhouse overlooks the course through its bay windows and elegant arched doors. The old-world central ballroom boasts large cathedral ceilings, fireplaces and exposed wood trusses. An outdoor terrace on the south side of the ballroom offers members a space to relax and take in the view, while a magnificent centerpiece terrace surrounds the clubhouse with its comfortable Tudor architecture.

Holston Hills Country Club has hosted many state and national events during its history. Byron Nelson won the Knoxville Open at Holston Hills in his magical year of 1945 and the PGA Cup matches for the 1982 World's Fair were played at Holston Hills. In recent history, Holston Hills welcomed the 2004 USGA Women's Mid-Amateur Championship and the Tennessee PGA Championship in 2007. Today, Holston Hills plays host to the annual Visit Knoxville Open as part of the Korn Ferry Tour.
